Valparaíso Hybrid rethinks the role of historic architecture within a changing city. Set in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Valparaíso, Chile, the project transforms an abandoned historic building into a catalyst for urban, social, and environmental regeneration.
Rather than preserving heritage as a static artifact, the proposal integrates architecture, landscape, and public life into a hybrid system that evolves over time. New programs, productive landscapes, and public spaces reconnect the building with its surroundings, demonstrating how adaptive design can strengthen both cultural identity and quality of life.
The project proposes a resilient model where preservation is understood not as conservation alone, but as the continuous activation of the city's existing fabric.
